Easy DIY maintenance, it is so 1980’s basic, everything is accessible in the spacious engine bay, no complicated computers, it has simple mechanics, easy access carburettor, filters, spark plugs, distributer. If you are use to manual choke and rear drum brakes/front disc vehicles you will know what I mean, if your not, don’t worry you will soon get use to it, its easy to drive, even on narrow Isle of Wight lanes. Never gets hot in slow traffic. It has a electric fan that keeps the temp gauge exactly in the middle where it should be. Pots, Pans, Kettle. Cups, Curtains, Cutlery, Cute Sink Basin etc. NB There is no accessory canopy, but a rail is attached to the motorhome on the passenger side (see photo), which I assume is for a canopy attachment, but please do your own research. I never wanted one so never looked into it. We have had our fun with this lovely reliable motor home and its time to pass on to someone for more fun times. We were lucky to get this from the previous owner who maintained it very well. Talbot express 2L petrol for sale, much loved Motorhome is in fabulous condition for its age and perfect for them weekends away down at the beach side or in the country side, short version talbot express meaning parking is so much easier. New Truma fire heater installed (winter van so the walls are heavy insulated, fire on low heat warms the van up quick). Lounge area – Upholstery in excellent condition for the age, however it is dated hence why I’ve put throws down (you can see original in pictures and with throws). The table is removable and the table itself is utilised as a support for the bed (will become clear once you see it). The bed is 4ft – small double, I used a memory foam mattress topper to improve comfort and easy to store away for day usage of the van, new Truma fire heater installed (winter van so the walls are heavy insulated, fire on low heat warms the van up quick). Storage under the seats, and access via outside side compartment. Kitchen area – Fridge runs off both gas and electric (for off grid recommend using gas as the electric battery can be utilised for other appliances), four ring gas cooker (no oven or grill) a sink, draw for cutlery and storage above. Bathroom – Bathroom is toilet and sink only (previous owner removed shower) personally never used the toilet as always used the ones on campsite, hence no reason for me to reinstall shower etc. I have left a roll of flooring (as seen in pic) if you wanted to place on floor of bathroom and match the lounge area. Cab area- Above the cab is another sleeping area, two persons ideally children as there’s not a great deal of head height but manageable (I used it for storage). Passenger seat is a captains chair, meaning it is able to swivel to point in to lounge. CD player, a fan that was put on by previous owner, its old but actually quite powerful little ting. Lock safe under the seat. Next to the drivers seat there is a gauge and valve, this if for the air suspension system. Outside – outside area is in good condition for its age, however there are a few age related marks and a few rust spots near the front bumper, there is a stainless steel exhaust (I’ve not been under to see, garage told me, your than welcome to look). There is a LPG connection fitted but not set up if you want to reuse a refillable gas bottle, I’ve not looked into it hence it comes with a Calor gas bottle (Propane, orange bottle). Solar panel was 195 each. FYI for parts I always use Coastal motorhome. 1, The electrical system for the solar panels and the gas fire was installed by my self as a project, therefore i would recommend you do your own due diligence and have them checked prior to use for your own peace of mind as i assume no responsibility here-after the sale, however they have been installed for some time and had no issues. 2, The charge controller is currently only set up for the leisure battery, you will need to run two wires from van battery to the controller unit if you want the solar panels to charge main battery too. 3, Due to installing the new Truma heater, the new cover would have been to big to open the cupboard above, hence the old casing, the old fire cover is missing the top plastic cover in which the dial sit in, (I’m sure its in the van somewhere, but cant find it). According to previous owner the van is equipped with an immobiliser, I have never used this function just encase I couldn’t turn it off again, there is a round fob, probably needs a battery for the fob. Here we have for a sad sale is the beautiful Doris. Shes a petrol, manual gearbox, 2 litre girl. Easy to drive , with 2 keys, with swivel captains seat on the passenger side and lifting arms. Cd/radio player for on board entertainment and good leisure battery under the seat. TV aerial is present but never used. There is a safe under the seat but unfortunately I never got the key from the previous owner. Im told that you can get a replacement from Auto-sleepers. We bought her last year and before lockdown took some lovely little trips. What a fab van. Everything you need to be self sufficient. Cooker with grill and stove top. Fridge with small freezer. Sink for washing up and lots of storage cupboards for your kit and supplies. Shower room with wash basin, cabinet, toilet roll holder and cassette toilet which is very easy to deal with at a proper disposal site or your own loo. It even has a wooden privacy screen if needed. There are 3 seat belts and the sofa folds down to a large double. I have the extra original cushions to increase the size which is suitable for a 6ft 2 tall person. Under the sofa is more storage. There are several configurations. You can have a double or 2 singles. Over head there is a good sized locker for bedding, storage. There is also a wardrobe and designated cupboard for your gas. All the blinds are in good order, all with both fly screens and black out screens. All original curtains in great condition with brand new curtain hooks in place. Outside you have a pull out awning for those sunny dayswhich will come! Easy to operate with handle included. Doris is a great size to get places that bigger vans cant get or arent allowed to park. Good on fuel and such great fun to drive. I want to be honest and transparent in this sale so here are the little things that need work. The top hatch blew off in a gale one day and broke the plastic attachments. Its been taped on and stayed on well but Id suggest a better fix or replacement. I never had a habitation check because I never used the kitchen, so that might be a good idea just to be safe. There are no gas tanks on board. The water tank needs a new exit hose. Youll need this to keep the water in the tank. To the best of my knowledge thats about it. PLEASE, in light of covid we will not be having any tyre kickers etc. If you want to come and view her, covid safely, thats fine, just call me 07761124944. Keep it in mind that this old Dame is just that. Dont expect everything to be pristine or brand new, its not but she is in very good condition for her age in my opinion. I would be open to a possible p/x to a Ford 350 petrol or similar. Its just a waste of time getting my solicitor onto you! We are reluctantly having to sell our beloved camper van due to a water leak and a lack of time to get the required work done to restore her. We have had some lovely trips in this camper van as recently as last summer but unfortunately some water has got into her last winter and we just havent the time to get it sorted. Starts and runs fine and the van itself is in good condition and low mileage so is well worth the time to get the back sorted. We have started by stripping the wallpaper but that is as far as we went. Cooker and oven works well, water pump works and lights inside. Havent had the hot water working and the fridge does work but could do with a service as it doesnt always light. All the fittings and fixtures youd expect are there but could do with a bit of tlc to get them all working properly. Leisure battery works and charges fine.
