Eber D2 diesel heater with programmable controller. 200Ah AGM auxiliary battery (4x50Ah optima yellow top, mounted under van). Kitchen, including ARB 48l low consumption compressor fridge. Airtight gas locker with drop out. 25 litre water and drain tanks with Whale hand pump. Storage drawers and pull out table. Bed/sofa, 185×130 Sideways sleeping bed (I’m 183 and my partner is 173, not suitable for folk taller than us imo). Folds to sofa, usable with roof down. See previous height suggestion… Bed/sofa can be fully removed to use full load space. Under bed storage, 25 litre spare water tank with water pump for showers or cleaning at rear of van, wheel arch boxes and removable plastic storage boxes (including basic tool box). Shore power ext cable, CTEK AGM battery charger. LED Touch lights and bending reading lights throughout. Cooling fan central mounted. So, if you’ve got this far Victor the van maybe for you, so I’ll give you as much information as possible to help you decide. Big picture, Victor has been our travelling home for about 7 years, I’ve worked from him, my partner and I have traveled around Europe and when my daughter was born he has been invaluable for naps, feeding etc as a daily driver. Mechanically, I’ve changed two injectors (a common problem with Trafics, caused by poor engine bay sealing, which I also fixed) which was 6 years ago and just recently had a fuel issue, which just ended up being air in a fuel line. Between these events he has run fine. I’ve fully serviced the engine regularly and changed the oil between. The clutch was preventatively changed around 2 years ago. Glow plugs were all done before last winter. The last MOT gave two advisories, corroded brakes lines and sub frame bushes’worn but not excessively moving’. Both will need to be done in the next couple of years. I asked our family mechanic to properly check everything. The batteries hold at about 12.7V after charging (meaning they are about 60-70% through their life cycle) but still manage 3-5 days off grid using the heater and/or fridge and lights and will continue to do so for some time. I upgraded the standard alternator with a new uprated one when we did the conversion and the battery bank charges quickly through a VSR. I use the CTEK charger to pulse the batteries regularly desulphate the electrolytic plates to keep optimal output. Also, there’s a button operated voltage meter at the rear of the kitchen. He is a relatively old van and does need a bit of TLC but is currently adventure ready, a great mix of compact size, well utilised living space and speed with not bad fuel efficiency. Please feel free to get in contact with me if you have anymore questions. Also, please note time wasters will be ignored, life is too short??
