Unfinished motor home project.. It took me a long time to find a RHD Bedford MJ this clean. If unfamiliar with this type of vehicle, a quick google search is recommended. This is the 1985 turbo version (the best ones) and with only 31,000 on the clock its barely run in. It was a reserve vehicle (not used in service) one of the last 100 to ever be released by the MOD and they are not releasing any more. I have the certificate of origin direct from the ministry of defence. It runs perfectly and has clearly been very well looked after. In addition, I start her up regularly and have driven it up and down the local country lanes a few times. Always puts a smile on my face and a terrified one on my neighbours. It is currently unregistered but I have all the paperwork and a good understanding of the process to make her road legal. Its pretty straight forward really. I was going to register it as a motor caravan and it passed its plating test (MOT) a couple of years ago and although this has now lapsed, Im sure it would sail through its next one. The box is industrially built with no expense spared, double glazed, insulated, water tight and truly bomb proof. The doors are awesome, so solid. The box cranes off easily and so can be separated from the vehicle if needed. It took me many hours and a small fortune to find the genuine screw hooks that link the box to the body but this insures it has been done properly. I have been staying 3-4 nights of the week on board to help reduce my commute to work. Inside has been pieced together using odds and ends that I have acquired over the years and is to my taste but may not be to yours. It wouldnt take much to start again or to continue as have although I do stress Im no carpenter and its pretty rustic. It is very basic with no water or electrics plumbed or wired in yet but this could be viewed positively as a blank canvas. Both the vehicle and box have a lot of potential either together or separated. I may even consider hiring it out at festivals if I were to get it looking a bit nearer the mark. I will be heartbroken to see her go but needs must. Viewing is welcomed but strictly by appointment only. It is kept on private land near to Tunbridge Wells and the farmer and I both own guns.
