VW Crafter Camper van conversion (Luton) 67000 Miles
Owned the van for roughly two years now, main bulk of the conversion was finished up last summer and have been living in it (on and off) since then. Everything works as it should. No funny business going on with the van itself or the camper aspect. The van has low millage at around 67K and 2500miles ago had a total engine reconditioning by Regal Engines in Essex. The work carried out was a total overhaul of the engine, along with a new turbo, head gasket, belt and timing. I have the original invoice so happy to share if required. So the next owner will just have to be mindful of checking the oil frequently as the system is still fairly new. I also have the service stamps after the work was carried out. MOT runs out in September. The Van itself was built by myself and a friend. The electrical components are top of the line. Everything electrical is a Renogy system. The base is a Renogy 300A/H lithium battery, that is hooked up to the alternator and the starter battery, this is also linked to the solar panels so when their is excess charge the start battery is topped up, that has actually been great. On the roof there are two 180w solar panels which keeps the system topped up nice. There is also a 2000w inverter with two mains plugs. This can be run either off the battery or as an extension unit when plugged into 3 pin mains power. The reason I went for everything Renogy is so that it can all be synced up to the monitor control unit which is mounted, which I haven’t used because the app itself is so good. There is a 3 pin hook up underneath the van, so when you are on a campsite you can plug in and run if the ICD plug point located under the sofa. There is a 80L water tank underslung on the outside of the van, with a refill cap mounted onto the body. This runs water into the sink. 35L Fridge on a sliding rail system that runs off the battery aswell as mains, can be swapped over easily. 25KG refillable gas bottle which can be removed out of the cabinet and taken to a filling station. Super fancy MAXX Air Fan extractor system that can be set up with a climate control, remote also on the main cabinet. There are a total of 4 usb ports, 3 on the main cabinet opposite the sink and one up on the light by the bed. The bed size itself is a full double over the cab. There is a little bit of work to be done in terms of functionality for whoever wants the van. I have been using a plug in radiator for heating, which has been fine when on a campsite to be honest. The van has 110mm celotex insulation round the entire box and a sound deadening layer, so it retains heat. So you might want to consider a heating option. There is also space to install a shower on the left hand side. As then you can link it to the gas bottle and the water tank and have a hot shower. There are some odds and sods regarding finishing, cupboard doors, cubby hole doors and installing some shelves. It has been fine for me, but if you have a bit of gear you’ll need a better shelving option. If you have made it this far thank you for your time reading the advert. However I will only send this to serious buyers. The Van is located in Colchester, Essex. No time wasters and no overseas buyers.
